I found an area by the Brooklyn Bridge, which I saw the day my brother and I went bike riding that had beach volleyball courts (3 of them). I went there on Saturday with my friend Marjorie and it was great! We had so much fun...but the athlete that I thought I was showed through in no time...within the first few minute of us "warming up", we were trying to warm up when neither one of us really knew the game but that's ok, so as we were warming up, I served the ball and something happened between me throwing up the ball with my left hand and hitting it with my right because I felt a sharp pain down my right arm. I kept telling Marjorie my muscle exploded, knowing that wasn't the case, but comparing the pain. I continued to play of course, I didn't want to ruin a perfectly good beach volleyball day but after I had to stop at CVS for some icey hot patches that didn't do much for my injury. Yesterday I walk up with my forearm still causing me pain, a bruise under my wrist and the muscle in my forearm feeling like rubber bands that have no more stretch left in them before they break...I put ice on it last night and this morning it was still swollen and bruised...I don't think I've mentioned this but maybe I don't always have the brightest ideas so today Marjorie and I decided to go play volleyball again so we stopped at the drug store and I bought an ace bandage for my forearm. Within a few minutes of us playing I hit the ball like I was giving someone a dramatic high five, like when you're so into the high five that your leg tends to pop up behind you. Well yes that kind of high five and once again a shooting pain went down my forearm. We finished about two hours later and when I got home I realized this pain wasn't normal. I went to go to a FIRSTMED by my house but because it was labor day it closed at 3:00pm. Instead I stopped next to a parked EMT and he got out of his car and came to take a look at my arm. NO COPAY, NO LINES...my kind of check up! He told me that some blood vessels popped and just put ice on it, yes the same thing my mom told me but I chose not to listen...thanks Mom, you're always right.
Well I will continue to ramble since I am nervous about tomorrow so instead I will shut this down, read my book until I fall asleep and hope for a really exciting day tomorrow! To all teachers- GOOD LUCK TOMORROW! To everyone else, SORRY YOU DIDN'T HAVE THE WHOLE SUMMER OFF, but you try working with school administration and see what type of break you need after that!
